A marvelous synergy flows when an individual's or a group's methodical work to expand their consciousness unites with their commitment to the economic and social well-being of those around them. This is the story of El Angel, the factory that a small group of members of Cafh established more than 30 years ago in Cinchona, a rural community in Costa Rica. Over the years, the enterprise brought the people of the area opportunities for work, training, education and health care.
Then, on January 8, 2009, an earthquake of 6.2 on the Richter scale struck, leaving widespread devastation. Cafh members and the employees of El Angel managed to salvage some of the machinery and to transport it over the mountains to Cariblanco. There the factory re-opened on April 30, 2009.
